Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of the People’s Committee, the Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, the Director of the Market Management Branch of the provinces and centrally-run cities and the Steering Committee for Covid-19 prevention and control of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

At the conference, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade - Member of the National Steering Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic said that currently, the pandemic still sees complicated developments. In this 4th anti-pandemic, the whole country focuses on industrial parks, industrial clusters, production and business factories, production facilities, commercial centers, and traditional markets. .. These are the places with the largest concentration of laborers in the country.

In Thai Nguyen province, there are currently 573 industrial enterprises. Facing that situation, Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade implemented Official Letter No. 3836/CV-BCD dated May 10th, 2021 of the National Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of COVID-19 pandemic on strengthening the prevention and control of COVID-19 pandemic at production and business facilities and industrial parks; Official Dispatch No. 1981/UBND-KGVX dated May 11th, 2021 of Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee on strengthening prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic at production and business establishments, industrial parks in the province. In order to enhance prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic, the Department of Industry and Trade suggested that industrial clusters’ infrastructure investors and industrial production units in the province strictly implement a number of regulations as follows:

Requiring units to strictly comply with the requirements in Official Dispatch No. 728/SCT-KHTCTH dated April 27^th, 2021; Official Dispatch No. 817/SCT-QLTM&HNKTQT dated May 11^th, 2021 of the Department of Industry and Trade on strengthening measures of Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control. Urgently developing plans for isolation, prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic in accordance with the actual conditions of each unit; for units that have developed plans, the province requires to continue reviewing isolation plans and promote propaganda in order to ensure effective implementation;

Regularly organizing to inspect and supervise the units in the Industrial Cluster; industrial production establishments in the province on seriously implementing the Decision No. 2194/QD-BCDQG dated May 27th, 2020 of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on the issuance of “Guidelines for the prevention and control and assessment of COVID-19 infection in the workplace and dormitory for employees”

Actively registering for random SARS-CoV-2 testing for their employees in voluntary and self-paid tests to enhance monitoring capacity, reduce the load on the health system and detect people infected with COVID-19 sooner in accordance with the direction of the Provincial People’s Committee in Document No. 2041/UBND-KGVX dated May 13th, 2021 on strengthening testing at production and business establishments, industrial parks and clusters industry in Thai Nguyen province to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic;

Continuing to strictly comply with the 5K requirements of the Ministry of Health (mask - Disinfection - Distance - Interaction - Medical declaration); strictly handling individual and units that do not comply with regulations on prevention and control of COVID-19 during and outside working hours;

The infrastructure investors of industrial clusters and industrial production units in the province promptly provide information to update the map of safe coexistence with COVID-19;

Requiring investors of industrial clusters to propagate and widely disseminate to production and business units operating in industrial clusters about regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control; coordinating with local health facilities and participating in training on pandemic prevention and control plans; propagating about the prevention and control of COVID-19 infection to employees in accordance with the actual conditions of the unit;

Strengthening management and strictly control information of foreign workers working in industrial clusters; industrial production units to ensure the effectiveness of COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control;

Strictly following the instructions of the Department of Health on the isolation, setting up a temporary medical isolation room for any suspected case of COVID-19;

Regularly updating and reporting information on the pandemic situation in a timely and effective way; signing a commitment to strictly observe the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Regarding ensuring the supply of goods in the province, despite the complicated development of the Covid-19 pandemic, people were understanding and relatively calm due to believing in the ability to supply essential goods of the distribution system. Currently, the supply situation in the area is still stable. There is no case of  high food prices or shortage of products. At enterprises in the province such as: Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company; TDT Phu Binh Garment Joint Stock Company; TNG Phu Binh Garment Factory… Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade has also established a delegation to survey, urge and propagate the COVID-19 situation. Generally, the effectiveness of prevention and control of COVID-19 at the enterprises is quite good.

The Department of Industry and Trade also guided units and businesses doing business in the field of markets, supermarkets, trade centers and shops to take measures of prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic of the Ministry of Health. Besides, the Division also developed information sheets for the COVID-19 safe living map system.

The Director of Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade said: Currently, the provincial pandemic situation is basically under control, but the province still upholds the spirit of fighting COVID-19 pandemic and strictly implements the "5K message"; In the province, there are 5/7 industrial parks have been put into operation, 01 industrial park is attracting investment in infrastructure with a total area of 2,395 hectares. Infrastructure of industrial cluster: Currently, there are 26/35 infrastructures of industrial cluster have been formed with a total area of 136.37 hectares. The number of industrial workers by 2020 is nearly 200,000 people.

In the province, Samsung Group has a production factory in Yen Binh Industrial Park, Pho Yen town, Thai Nguyen city. The Group has a smartphone factory in Noida, Uttar Pradesh State, India; In the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic in India, Thai Nguyen province needs to prepare mentally if Samsung Group moves its factory from India to Vietnam.
